What’s Split Air Conditioning?

Split Air Conditioning Systems are permanently mounted systems with the compressor unit located externally and a separate fan coil unit inside the home. These are joined together by piping, which carries the refrigerant. The remote location of the compressor makes these units significantly quieter then window/wall models.

Split systems can be install on:

  • located at floor level, gives optimum heating performance
  • in the ceiling

What does Inverter mean?

An air conditioner bearing the inverter tag uses a variable-frequency drive to control the speed of the electric motor and thus the compressor to reducer power usage and therefore running costs.

What’s Ducted Air Conditioning?

Ducted Air Conditioning systems are designed to centrally heat and cool a large number of rooms or an entire home. They can be suitable if you have an open-plan house, and/or prefer heating in all or most rooms of your house simultaneously. Ducted Air Conditioning systems consist of:

  • The air conditioning condenser located outside in a convenient location.
  • Flexible or rigid ducting, usually installed above the ceiling to distribute the conditioned air throughout the home.
  • Supply air vents, attached to the ceiling or walls (or sometimes the floor), directing the conditioned air into each room.
  • A return air vent (grille) to recirculate air back to the system for re-circulation back to the supply air vents.

What is Zoning?

Zoning is the dividing of the house into separately controlled areas. The individual zones can be switched on or off as needed. For example, a day zone for the living areas and a night zone for the bedrooms.
